Engineering consulting and staffing provider Belcan LLC completed its acquisition of UK-based East Kilbride Engineering Services, an engineering consultancy that also provides engineering recruitment and staffing services.The transaction closed Feb.

Two large engineering staffing providers specializing in the oil and gas industry - Swift Worldwide Resources and Air Energi Group - joined forces in a merger announced in January that will form a new firm called Airswift Holdings. However, the combined firm will continue to be privately held by private equity firms Wellspring Capital Management and LGV Capital.Wellspring owned Swift, which it acquired in 2013. LGV owned Air Energi.

As the demand for engineering talent continues to increase, employers struggle to find candidates with the work experience they need, according to the Engineering Talent Supply and Demand survey released by Experis, a division of ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN).The survey found 82% of engineering employers have difficulty filling engineering roles.

Trillium Staffing acquired Boston-based Atlantic Associates Inc., effective Jan. 14.Atlantic Associates, founded in 1998 by John Fitzgerald and Jack Harrington, provides strategic IT and engineering staffing services. Atlantic Associates will transition to the Trillium Technical brand and continue to be led by former Market Director Patrick McNamara in his new role as area manager.

Engineering majors are projected to post the highest starting salary, at $64,891, among graduates of the class of 2016, according to salary survey data released by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

Cenergy International and HKA Enterprises completed their merger to form a new company: Cenergy Partners.The transaction closed Jan. 1. Terms were not disclosed, but it is described as a partnership, with equal votes on the board.Cenergy Partners will be led by newly hired president Jeff Miller. Miler most recently did a short stint as executive VP at Talascend after spending three years as VP at KBR Inc.
