This year, Staffing Industry Analysts counted 251 staffing firms with $100 million or more in US revenue, up from 225 last year, according to the Largest Staffing Firms in the United States: 2023 Update report, released on Monday.

Relatively few temporary workers operating through staffing firms also use talent platforms or work services platforms to find work, according to data from the North America Temporary Workers Survey 2023 report by Staffing Industry Analysts.A survey for the report found only 8.9% said they used either a business-related talent platform or business-to-consumer work services platform in 2022. This has generally been the trend since 2016, according to prior surveys.

Elwood Staffing, a Columbus, Indiana-based staffing firm, announced today its acquisition of Georgia-based NAOS Staffing, a regional provider of on-site contingent staffing and workforce management solutions.It's the third buy this year for Elwood, following the acquisitions of Advanced Personnel and IES Custom Staffing Solutions.The transaction closed March 13; terms were not disclosed.

Instawork, a San Francisco-based talent platform connecting businesses with skilled hourly workers, last week announced a $60 million Series D funding round and says it plans to use the investment to expand its AI capabilities.
