Eliassen Group acquires media technology staffing firm

Eliassen Group, an IT and life sciences staffing firm, acquired Project One Inc., a technology consulting and staffing firm within the media technology industry.

Project One is headquartered in New York City, with an additional office in Denver. The company has clients nationwide in broadcast television; cable and communications; sports and news media; entertainment; publishing; and advertising technology.

The transaction closed April 3; terms were not disclosed. The Project One brand will remain for now, and the company’s executives will stay with the company.

The acquisition expands the range of services both firms are able to provide. Eliassen Group also gains access to Project One’s professional network of candidate talent and experience, while Project One will benefit from Eliassen Group’s greater breadth of resources.

“A strategic partnership with Project One complements our service offerings by opening Eliassen Group up to opportunities in the media technology space,” Eliassen Group CEO David MacKeen said.

Reading, Mass.-based Eliassen Group was founded in 1989 and counts about 20 locations. The company ranks No. 14 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2018 list of largest IT staffing firms in the US. Last year, Eliassen was itself acquired in a venture capital deal.

“We’re very excited to become part of Eliassen Group,” said Gary Zander, founder, president and CEO of Project One. “We share a common vision and culture based on integrity, quality and service. I’m confident that the synergy created by our business combination will directly benefit our employees, clients and consultants.”
