New leaders for EmployBridge and TrueBlue’s PeopleReady division

Both EmployBridge and TrueBlue Inc.’s (NYSE: TBI) PeopleReady industrial staffing division will have new leaders at their helms in the new year.

EmployBridge

EmployBridge co-founder and CEO Tom Bickes will retire effective Jan. 1 from the Atlanta-based firm that ranks as the largest industrial staffing firm in the US. Bickes will remain on the company’s board while fellow board member Michael Miles will take over the CEO role.

“The opportunity and timing are right for me to pass the torch to Michael, who will continue to lead EmployBridge as the leading light industrial workforce specialty staffing firm in the US,” Bickes said.

Miles has been a board member of EmployBridge since 2016 and has more than 30 years of experience in staffing. He co-founded Staff Management | SMX in 1988, and he co-founded PeopleScout in 1992. Staff Management | SMX was an early pioneer in vendor-on-premise staffing solutions while PeopleScout was an early mover in recruitment process outsourcing.

In addition, Miles was the recipient of Staffing Industry Analysts’ Peter Yessne Staffing Leadership Award in 2013.

“The opportunity that lies ahead for our business is tremendous, and the chance to lead the EmployBridge organization is humbling and incredibly exciting,” Miles said.

PeopleReady

TrueBlue named Taryn Owen as president of its PeopleReady industrial staffing division effective Dec. 30. Owen had served as executive VP and president of the company’s PeopleScout recruitment process outsourcing group.

“Taryn’s disciplined approach, visionary thinking and proven ability to drive growth position her perfectly to lead PeopleReady,” TrueBlue CEO Patrick Beharelle said.

Taking over as interim president of PeopleScout will be Chip Holmes, who is senior VP of client delivery at PeopleScout. TrueBlue is searching for a permanent successor.

Owen first joined PeopleScout in 2010 as VP of client delivery after serving as an operations director at Randstad Sourceright.

Owen led the launch of PeopleScout’s talent technology Affinix in 2017, and led five acquisitions and integrations over five years, including Aon Hewitt’s RPO division.

Former executive VP and President of PeopleReady Sean Ebner left the company in August. Beharelle has been serving as the interim president of PeopleReady.

At the PeopleScout division, Holmes has been a member of the division’s global leadership team since 2016.

“Chip is a well-respected industry leader known for his broad knowledge of the talent landscape and commitment to empowering the success of both his client partnerships and his team,” Beharelle said.
