Tandym Group buys IT staffing firm AETEA Information Technology

Tandym Group, which ranks among the largest IT staffing firms, acquired AETEA Information Technology, an IT staffing firm based in Pennsylvania.

“AETEA brings an impressive roster of companies to our client base,” Tandym CEO and Executive Chairman Charles Heskett said in a press release.

AETEA provides technology staffing and consulting services to a broad range of companies including financial services, biotech and consumer packaged goods. The company was founded in 1979.

“Tandym’s strategic acquisition of AETEA not only enhances the range of services we can provide to clients and candidates but also holds personal significance to me,” Tandym President Dave Muller said. “Having started my career in this industry with the team at AETEA, I am thrilled about the opportunity to build upon their 35-year legacy."

The terms of the transaction were not announced.

Tandym is based in New York and is backed by private investment firm Mill Rock Capital. The announcement by Tandym follows two acquisitions last year: Metro Systems Inc., a Virginia-based IT staffing firm, and Longford & Co., a strategic consulting and executive search firm based in Boston.
