Tandym Group makes fourth acquisition in 2 years

Tandym Group, a New York-based IT and locum tenens staffing provider, acquired Kolter Solutions, a Maitland, Florida-based IT staffing firm. Both companies ranked on SIA’s Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms list. The deal marks Tandym’s fourth acquisition in two years.

“Today is an exciting day for Tandym,” CEO Byrne Mulrooney said in a press release. “Our acquisition of Kolter Solutions is not just a strategic move for us — it’s a commitment to unlocking a wealth of talent and expertise that will drive better outcomes for all, including our existing clients in Florida and neighboring states.”

Mulrooney continued, “Having access to an even deeper pool of qualified talent in this region will allow us to further support our clients across their diverse requirements.”

Kolter specializes in healthcare IT with an additional focus on professional IT, engineering and digital/creative placements. The company appeared on the 2023 Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms list, ranking No. 83 with a compound average growth rate for revenue of 33.2%.

“We are thrilled to be part of the growing Tandym family,” Kolter President Roger Whiteman said in a press release. “As we continue to provide personalized concierge service to our consultants, we can now offer new opportunities and resources across the entire country, leveraging Tandym’s expansive platform.”

Terms of the transaction were not announced.

Tandym Group ranks No. 70 on SIA’s list of largest US staffing firms and No. 113 on the Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms list. Tandym is backed by private equity firm Mill Rock Capital.

“Kolter is a highly strategic transaction and is Tandym’s fourth acquisition in the last two years, demonstrating the company’s commitment to continued growth,” Chris Whalen and Adi Pekmezovic, Tandym board members and co-founders of Mill Rock Capital, said in a joint statement in a press release.

Tandym’s acquisitions over the last two years include Aetea Information Technology, Longford & Co. and Metro Systems Inc.

Tandym formerly operated as The Execu|Search Group before rebranding in 2022. It appointed Mulrooney as CEO and board member in 2023.
