People: TechServe Alliance, Tandym, Primary Talent Partners, Upwork, Vaco, ALKU

The TechServe Alliance, a trade association of IT staffing and engineering staffing firms, announced Joel Leege was elected as 2024 vice president/president-elect for the TechServe board. Leege has more than 20 years of experience in the staffing industry. He has been an active member of the TechServe Alliance since 2002 and was first elected to the board in 2022. Leege is chief strategy officer at Randstad Technologies Group.

Staffing firm Tandym Group promoted Dave Muller to president. Muller joined Tandym Group in 2021 and previously served as executive VP, Tandym Tech. He will oversee all of Tandym Group’s vertcials in his new role. Muller has more than 20 years of experience in the staffing industry and has held operational and sales leadership roles at several staffing firms.

James Lucier joined Primary Talent Partners as chief revenue officer. Lucier previously served as executive VP of Ceipal Procurewise. Primary Talent Partners, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, provides IT and life sciences staffing. Lucier appeared on the 2022 and 2023 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Influencers lists. Primary Talent Partners had other executives on the list in 2022 as well: Tinisha Bookhart, executive partner, director of IT practice, and Chad Douglas, founding partner and chief revenue officer.

Upwork Inc. appointed Zoë Diamadi as general manager, enterprise, effective June 29. Diamadi will oversee sales, product, engineering and operations within Upwork’s enterprise business unit. Diamadi’s previous experience includes serving as general manager of LinkedIn Elevate. Most recently, she served as an operating advisor at Bessemer Venture Partners.

Jimmy Jhanda, the San Francisco managing partner for staffing firm Vaco, is overseeing the opening of a new digital operations center in San Ramon, California. The 50,000-square-foot facility serve as a hub for 1,000 employees handling content moderation, trust and safety, curation and digital tagging for social media companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Alku, an Andover, Massachusetts-based staffing firm, named John Anthony as client partner. Anthony is a technology executive with more than 20 years of experience in ERP transformation projects. Most recently, he spent the last 15 years as senior director of ERP administration at VSP Global in Sacramento, California. Also, prior to joining Alku, he was a client for more than a decade. As client partner, he will serve as an extension of the Alku sales team.
