US economy expected to grow at modest pace (CBS)

The US economy will chug along this year at a modest growth rate of 2.3%, according the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office forecast on Tuesday, CBS reported. Next year, economic growth will ratchet down to 1.9%, the CBO projected. The nation’s unemployment rate, at 4.7% in December, is expected to stay below 5% for the next four years.
