The Judge Group names new CEO

January 24, 2017

The Judge Group, a Philadelphia-based staffing provider, named Marty Judge III as its next CEO, effective immediately. He succeeds his father, Martin E. Judge Jr., who founded The Judge Group in 1970.

Martin E. Judge Jr. will remain as chairman of the board and serve the company and its executive team in a consultative role. He will focus his day-to-day efforts on the China Arena Football League, an American professional football league in China, which he founded. The CAFL held its inaugural season in the fall of 2016.

Marty Judge III joined Judge 12 years ago as a technical recruiter with the IT staffing division in the Philadelphia office and has held a number of roles in his time with the firm. He has served as executive VP since 2012, overseeing several Judge offices across the company and leading some of Judge’s biggest initiatives. More recently, he was in charge of the expansion of recruiting operations, with two national recruiting centers in Phoenix and Tampa, Fla. He also assisted with the September opening of a delivery center in India, which focuses solely on filling IT opening in the US.

“I am thrilled to be handing over the CEO role to Marty,” said Martin E. Judge Jr. “I founded Judge with $2,000 I borrowed from my father and had the pleasure to lead and watch it grow for the past 47 years. To be able to pass the reins of the company on to a third generation of Judge is exciting. We have gone from a small three-person-company based out of one office, to a global organization with 35 offices in four countries and thousands of placements. The company is on solid ground, with a very accomplished management team led by Brian Anderson, great staff across the company, and a client base made up of many of the Fortune 100, as well as several promising startups. The future is very bright for Judge, and I know Marty is the right leader at the right time, to take on our goal of becoming a $1 billion organization.”

The Judge Group counts 35 offices across the US, Canada, China and India and places more than 4,500 professionals annually. The Judge Group has almost 600 internal employees globally and is currently at a run rate of over $400 million in sales for 2017. In October, the company moved its headquarters location to a larger, 90,000 square-foot building in Wayne, Penn.

Founded as a permanent placement firm, Judge now provides a suite of services including technology, talent, and learning solutions. It ranks No. 33 on Staffing Industry analysts list of largest staffing firms in the US and 12th on the list of largest IT staffing firms.
