SIA top editor receives leadership award

April 03, 2019

Staffing Industry Analysts Editor and Publisher, Media Products, Subadhra Sriram is among the winners of this year’s Jesse H. Neal Awards. Given annually by the business information association Connectiv, The Neal Awards are prestigious editorial honors in the field of specialized journalism.

Sriram, who oversees SIA’s global media strategy and steers the company’s editorial content, is the recipient of the 2019 Timothy White Award.

The Timothy White Award recognizes exemplary leadership in the face of challenges and pressures that editors face daily. It is given to an editor whose work displays extraordinary courage, integrity and passion. This memorial award, which falls in Leadership Awards category, is named after the longtime editor of Billboard magazine who served as the moral compass of the music industry by tackling controversial issues. The Leadership Awards recognize individuals who are iconic in their levels of vision, accomplishment and contributions.

“In her role, Subadhra balances a constant vigilance to maintain editorial integrity and independence with compassion and conviction,” said Michael Marchesano, managing director at Connectiv. “From being frequently questioned, both internally and externally, on the necessity of such strict editorial standards, she remains steadfast in her stance of protecting the integrity of the editorial products on her watch.”

“I am delighted and humbled to receive this honor,” Sriram said. “It’s gratifying to be recognized for balancing the pressures that my team and I face daily and to join the ranks of those who have received this honor previously.”

The 65th Annual Jesse H. Neal Awards were presented at a special luncheon in New York City on March 29.
