H-1B visa changes will be ‘shock’ to employers (Inc.)

Recent changes to the H-1B visa program will bring an impact on business, Diana Ransom writes in Inc. magazine. Susan Cohen, founding chair of the immigration practice at law firm Mintz Levin, told Inc. the wage-scale changes alone affect a variety of visa holders, including H-1Bs as well as green card holders. Cohen said the rule was “horrifying, truly” and “it’s going to be a shock to employers.” The rules also reduce the length of stay for professionals employed through third-party employers such as staffing firms to one year, down from three years.
