GrapeTree Medical Staffing appoints new CEO

November 14, 2017

Iowa-based GrapeTree Medical Staffing LLC named Steve Heeg as its new CEO, effective Nov. 13. Company founder Tim Kinnetz, who previously served as CEO of the nurse staffing firm, moved to the company’s board of directors.

Heeg most recently was VP of healthcare global operations at Startek Inc., a customer engagement company. Before that, he was VP of operations for companies including Alorica Inc., UnitedHealth Group and Sitel Corp.

New MainStream Capital in October partnered with Kinnetz in the recapitalization of GrapeTree, which serves as the platform investment in New MainStream Capital’s effort to build a provider of CNA and RN staffing to long-term care facilities and hospitals on both a per diem and contract basis.

“Steve has unparalleled expertise in strategic healthcare leadership,” Kinnetz said of Heeg. “GrapeTree has already experienced exponential growth and I have the utmost trust in Steve and the support of my New MainStream Capital partners to lead our company into new levels of success.”

GrapeTree ranks No. 12 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2017 Fastest-Growing US Staffing Firms list with a five-year compound annual growth rate of 65.7%. Kinnetz, a former travel nurse, founded GrapeTree in 1999 in Milford, Iowa. The firm serves facilities across the Midwest and focuses on CNA staffing in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, as well as LPNs and RNs in hospitals. GrapeTree has more than 100 employees and has placed more than 1,600 different healthcare professionals in at least one shift this year.
