CPI’s inflation gauge rises more than expected (Yahoo Finance)

January saw consumer prices rise more than expected, Yahoo Finance reported. The Consumer Price Index, or CPI, rose 0.3% over the previous month and was up 3.1% year over year. Economists had forecasted a month-over-month increase of 0.2% and a year-over-year increase of 2.9%.
