Are Your Contracting Services Arrangements Putting You at Risk?

Demand for a more agile workforce and increased productivity has led the volume of services to more than double, and some industry leaders believe that external workers will make up 40 percent of Australia’s workforce by 2020. But with this growth comes increased risk.

  • Under the Independent Contractors Act (2008) and the Civil Liability Act (2002) companies can still be found to have breached a duty of care, even for temporary employees and external services providers. How confident are you that 100% of your services suppliers are insured?
  • The injury rate amongst non-permanent workers is as much as 50 percent higher than that of permanent workers. Do you consistently on-board and conduct safety inductions for your non-permanent workers?
  • Recent reports have demonstrated that breaches in security, have related back to the engagements of service contracts are not aligned to the needs of organisation. Does your current services contract uphold standard protection for your IP, IT security and public liability?
  • Only 28 percent of companies deem their services management as a strategic part of their risk and compliance strategy. Is your organisation realistic about its risk?

During this webinar, Peter Reagan, Director, Contingent Workforce Strategies and Research (EMEA, APAC & LATAM) at Staffing Industry Analysts, Toni Jackson, SAP Fieldglass Director APAC and Special Guest Peter Budd, Regional Lead - CM Solution, Procurement at Rio Tinto will discuss how organisations, like Rio Tinto and others, have overcome these challenges to ensure that they are covered against risk and better manage the outcomes and levels of effort of their services suppliers.
