MSouth makes significant investment in Medix Staffing Solutions

MSouth Equity Partners, an Atlanta-based private equity firm, announced a significant investment in Medix Staffing Solutions LLC.

Medix, based in Chicago, ranks as the 11th-largest provider of allied healthcare staffing in the US. It also spent several years on the Fastest-Growing US Staffing Firms list. Medix has 21 offices and operates in 44 states.

Andrew Limouris will remain CEO and a large investor in Medix.

“Partnering with MSouth was about locking arms with the right investor to accelerate growth, diversify our solutions portfolio, and ultimately, create exciting opportunities for our Medix team, customers and talent,” Limouris said. “Most of all, it’s an even bigger commitment to our purpose of positively impacting lives.”

The deal closed Sept. 16.

“MSouth has long sought after the right strategic investment in healthcare staffing and couldn’t be happier with the Medix fit,” said Dan Campbell, partner, MSouth Equity Partners.

“Medix was looking for the right strategic partner with shared values and purpose that could assist Medix in achieving new heights,” Campbell said. “Andrew hand selected MSouth and a couple of strategic investors that fit that criteria and have the industry experience to assist guiding Medix under Andrew and his team’s leadership.”

Both Limouris and Campbell were featured in the book, “Breaking Through: Leadership Disciplines From Top Performing Staffing Firms,” written by Barry Asin, president of Staffing Industry Analysts, and Mike Cleland, a staffing industry performance consultant.

Campbell joined MSouth in 2018 and previously served as CEO of staffing firm Hire Dynamics.

Campbell discussed the possibility of a deal with Limouris after the initial “Breaking Through” get-together five years ago. However, Campbell said it was an industry veteran that gets the credit with formally getting the parties together roughly a year ago.
