Japan – Will Group H1 revenue rises 13.2% as profits show improvement

Japanese HR firm Will Group (6089:TYO), which focuses on temporary staffing, business contracting and recruitment, reported revenue today of JPY 72.36 billion (USD 496.4 million) for the six months ended 30 September 2022, an increase of 13.2% when compared to the same period last year.

In Japan, the group said that from July to September 2022, the resurgence of Covid-19 led to recruitment activities being curtailed, in addition to delays in acquiring new projects which led to a decline in dispatched staff.

Overseas, in Singapore and Australia, where the company mainly operates, immigration restrictions have been lifted, and the economy saw improvement, it stated.

Will Group is engaged in the human resource business focusing on temporary staffing, business contracting and recruitment. The group operates in seven segments: Sales Outsourcing, Call Centre Outsourcing, Factory Outsourcing, Nursing Care Domain Support, Overseas HR, Others (Japan) and the recently added segment the Start-up Human Resources Support Business.

Looking ahead the company forecasted revenue of JPY 140.0 billion (USD 960.43 million) for the year ended March 2023.

Will Group shares closed at JPY 1,484.00 (USD 10.18), down 0.13% on the day and 8.17% below its 52-week high of JPY 1,616.00 (USD 11.09), set on 10 November 2021. The company has a market cap of JPY 34.00 billion (USD 233.25 million).
