Japanese staffing firm S-Pool (2471: JP) reported revenue today for the six months ended 31 May 2021 of JPY 11.64 billion (USD 105.0 million), an increase of 19.3% compared with the same period last year.

The group said it was able to minimise the impact of the ‘Declaration of a State of Emergency’ that was in effect due to the pandemic and achieve a new record high.
Gross Margin was down due to the increase in the payment of salaries to temporary staff for Human Resources Outsourcing Services, and then the increase in social insurance premiums.

Founded in 1999, S-Pool is headquartered in Tokyo and provides outsourcing services as well as temporary staffing services in the sales and marketing and office support/secretarial support sectors.
Looking ahead, the company forecasted revenue of JPY 24.80 billion (USD 223.78 million) for the year ended November 2021.
Shares in S-Pool closed at JPY 940.00 (USD 8.48), down 6.09% on the day and 20.41% below its 52-week high of JPY 1,181.00 (USD 10.66), set on 30 March 2021. The company has a market cap of JPY 79.09 billion (USD 713.7 million).
