Japan – Nisso Corp first quarter revenue up as profit climb

Nisso Corporation (6569: TYO), a Japanese human resources firm providing staffing services, reported revenue yesterday of JPY 18.04 billion (USD 162.9 million) for the first quarter ended 30 June 2021, an improvement of 9.0% compared to the same period last year.

Nisso operates in two segments: human resources and other business. The integrated talent service business operates a manufacturing talent service, such as manufacturing dispatching and manufacturing contracting, as well as an administrative talent service including general office dispatching and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). The Other business segment operates nursing care and welfare projects, such as facility nursing care and home care.

Regarding manufacturing-related human resources services, the group's core business in existing areas such as manufacturing dispatching and contracting, the group is increasing investments in promotions, recruiting a large number of human resources, improving added value by training workers, and strengthening its service supply system to clients in order to increase profitability.

Nisso Group added that it will actively invest in the introduction of digital technologies such as AI, and the building of new partnerships in order to create businesses that have synergies with the group.

Nisso Group is the 15th largest staffing firm in Japan based on revenue, according to SIA’s Largest Staffing Firms in Japan report.

The company forecasted revenue of JPY 76.00 billion (USD 686.3 million) for the year ended March 2022.

Shares in Nisso closed at JPY 820.00 (USD 7.40), up 3.79% on the day. The company has a market cap of JPY 28.52 billion (USD 257.5 million).
