Japan – Gakujo revenue down slightly 0.2% but sees further recovery

Japanese recruitment firm Gakujo Co. (2301: JP) reported revenue for the nine months ended 31 July 2021 of JPY 3.82 billion (USD 34.7 million), a decrease of 0.2% compared with last year.

Gakujo provides human resources and recruitment services in Japan. It is involved in college campus recruiting, mid-career recruitment, and business recruitment activities. The company also provides staffing services for small and medium-sized venture companies.

The group said the current business environment has improved year-on-year, and it sees a further recovery in business results over the fourth quarter period.

Looking ahead the company forecasted revenue of JPY 6.50 billion (USD 59.0 million) for the year ended 31 October 2021.

Shares in Gakujo closed at JPY 1,259.00 (USD 11.43), up 0.56% on the day and 30.47% above the 52 week low of JPY 965.00 (USD 8.76) set on 30 October 2020. The company has a market cap of JPY 19.48 billion (USD 176.9 million).
