Magnify buys HuntSource, boosting its North Carolina presence

May 07, 2024

Richmond, Virginia-based staffing provider Magnify acquired HuntSource, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based staffing firm that specializes in cyber and information security staffing. The deal closed April 30.

With the acquisition, Magnify aims to bolster its presence in Charlotte while enhancing its staffing and recruiting capabilities.

“Simply put, the reputation of both HuntSource and its CEO, Jack Hall, has been a staple of the local Charlotte community since 2017,” Magnify co-owner Dheryld Houston said in a press release. “They were able to accomplish a lot of great things and create a fantastic reputation within the information technology space as a cybersecurity-focused staffing firm.”

Plans call for the combined firm to merge its two Charlotte workforces into a new headquarters this summer.

“The leadership team at Magnify mirrored the values of how HuntSource has operated since inception,” HuntSource co-founder and Managing Partner Jack Hall said in a press release. “Our strengths are compatible, and I am excited to see how we grow together as one organization.”

HuntSource brings between $2.5 million and $4 million in annual revenue and could boost revenue at the combined firm to $16 million in 2024.

Magnify now has 32 full0time employees across its four offices, including 14 full-time employees in Richmond. It has between 140 and 175 contractors working in the field at a given time.

Magnit specializes in IT, professional services, healthcare and sales and marketing staffing.

Terms of the transaction were not announced.
