IT services giants Wipro Ltd. (WIPRO:NSI), based in Bangalore, India, and Infosys Ltd. (INFY:NSI), based in Bangalore, India, this week announce acquisitions of IT services firms. Wipro is acquiring a US-based firm while Infosys is buying a Malaysia-based operation.

Wipro Ltd.

Wipro announced it signed an agreement to acquire LeanSwift Solutions Inc., a system integrator for products from enterprise software firm Infor. Wipro will pay USD 21 million for a 100% stake in the firm.

LeanSwift is based in Florida and has development offices across the US, Sweden and India. It provides consulting, business solutions and technical services.

The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.

LeanSwift posted revenue of USD 18.0 million in 2020. It was founded in 2011.

Infosys Ltd.

A subsidiary of Infosys is acquiring a 100% stake in Singapore Telecommunication Ltd.’s delivery centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The center provides IT services and consulting.

The move aims to bolster Infosys’ presence in Malaysia. It will pay up to SGD 6 million (USD 4.4 million) subject to customary closing adjustments.

Plans call for the deal to close this month.

The centre posted revenue of MYR 67.4 million (USD 15.9 million) in its fiscal year ended March 2021.
