10 September 2021

Australian staffing firm WorkPac, which provides professional and industrial workers, raised AUD 20 million in a convertible note and is weighing an initial public offering, according to a report in the Financial Review. The publication cited a report with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission that WorkPac had AUD 1.4 billion in revenue in 2020.

WorkPac has more than 40 locations in Australia and has more than 10,000 external workers employed at client sites throughout Australia, according to the company. It supplied more than 21 million hours of work in fiscal year 2019.

It was started in 1997 in Perth, Australia, by Phil Smart, who now serves as executive director.

In addition to WorkPac, the company’s other brands include IMR LocumBank, Prime Medical Placements, BRC Recruitment, Gold Training, Inoteq, Gulumarri and Site Fleet Services.

WorkPac was involved in a court case in the High Court of Australia in which a decision was published earlier this month.
