Australia – Freelancer reports fall in cash receipts in Q3

Freelancer Limited (FLN: ASX), which operates the Australia-based Freelancer.com staffing platform, reported group cash receipts for the third quarter ending 30 September 2022 of AUD 13.5 million (USD 8.75 million), down 1.5% on the previous corresponding period. 

Receipts for the Freelancer.com online staffing marketplace stood at AUD 11.2 million (USD 7.26 million) down 1.4% over the previous year. Escrow cash receipts AUD 2.3 million (USD 1.5 million) down 1.9%.

Freelancer Limited reported group Gross Payment Volume (GPV) in Q3 2022 of AUD 242.4 million (USD 157.1 million) down 14.2% over the previous corresponding period.

When broken down, Freelancer Gross Marketplace Volume stood at AUD 31.5 million (USD 20.4 million), down 5.1% on the previous corresponding period.

Escrow GPV stood at AUD 200.0 million (USD 129.7 million), down 16.2% on the previous corresponding period.

The group said currency effects had a tailwind of 7.0% in Q3 2022 as the Australian dollar depreciated against the US dollar.

In the third quarter of 2022, the group completed the integration of the Loadshift and Freightlancer platforms. The combined entities are now using solely the Loadshift brand.

Freelancer Ltd set a new 52-week low during today's trading session when it reached AUD 0.2075 (USD 0.13). Over this period, the share price is down -71.71%. The group last traded at AUD 0.215 (0.14), down 10.42% on the day. The company has a market cap of AUD 108.29 million (USD 70.17 million).
