Asia – APSCo appoints Managing Director of regional operations

06 November 2014

The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) today announced the appointment of Gaulbert Pereira to the position of Managing Director of APSCo Asia, in a move which will further strengthen the trade association’s offering in the region.

Mr Pereira has held a number of senior positions at professional recruitment firms across the world; including Michael Page, Computer Future Solutions, and most recently the InterQuest Group where he was General Manager for the Asia Pacific region. He will be based in APSCo’s Singapore office and will be responsible for the leadership and expansion of the Asia region.

Commenting on the appointment, Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCo, said: “As an international trade association, which is going through rapid growth, we needed an ambassador for the professional recruitment sector in Asia and Gaulbert’s experience made him the obvious choice. Born in Singapore, his most recent position at the InterQuest Group meant he was so often on the receiving end of what APSCo had to offer. This exposure, coupled with his fifteen year career in the professional recruitment sector, makes me confident that he can take APSCo Asia from strength to strength”.

Mr Pereira added: “It’s no secret that the recruitment landscape across Asia is full of opportunities for both local and international staffing companies. However with opportunities there are also challenges, and this is why there is a real need for a membership body on the ground to provide support to the local community.”

“I am looking forward to rising to the challenge and assisting members in the region navigate the complex compliance and legislation they must contend with. I have a real opportunity to join a strong and growing trade association that shares my commitment to supporting the recruitment profession in a region which has huge potential for growth. I have no doubt that we can replicate what we all know APSCo in the UK to be: the badge of quality for candidates and employers alike,” he concluded.
