The former president of Infosys Ltd. (NYSE: INFY), Ravi Kumar S., will join Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. (NASDAQ: CTSH), the Teaneck, New Jersey-based IT services giant. Cognizant also announced a new head of its software and platform engineering practice area.

Infosys had previously announced Kumar’s departure.

Kumar takes on the role at Cognizant effective Jan. 16. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the consulting, process and technology transformation space.  

In addition, Cognizant announced Prasad Sankaran will join as head of its software and platform engineering practice area. Sankaran comes to Cognizant from Bain & Co., where he was a senior VP and leader of Bain’s enterprise technology global practice. Prior to that, Sankaran had spent 25 years at Accenture, ending his tenure as senior managing director.
