Infosys plans 2,000-worker tech and innovation hub in North Carolina

Infosys (NYSE: INFY), a global IT services and outsourcing provider, will open its North Carolina Technology and Innovation Hub in Raleigh, N.C. It is expected to hire 2,000 American workers by 2021.

The new hub will open in early 2018 and occupy 60,000 square feet in a new facility in Raleigh. The company plans to hire the first 500 workers for the Raleigh innovation hub within two years, with the remainder to be hired in the state by 2021.

Infosys in April said it will focus on its US talent pool, offshoring and automation to combat changes in the H-1B program.

The North Carolina Technology and Innovation Hub will target artificial intelligence, machine learning, data and advanced analytics, cloud and big data, according to Infosys President and Deputy Chief Operating Officer Ravi Kumar.
