Silicon Valley tech firm extends benefits to staffing firm workers (CNBC)

SurveyMonkey, an online survey tool, is working to extend company benefits not just to internal employees but contractors through third-party firms, including staffing firms, CNBC reported. The company developed a framework for vendor partners for health benefits, personal time off and transportation. The move comes amid increasing tensions between Silicon Valley and the rest of society, the news agency reported. The San Mateo, Calif.-based company’s chief people officer, Becky Cantieri, also describes the firm’s efforts in a blog post, “SurveyMonkey’s journey to improving benefits for our extended family of workers.”
