Online platform Nomad Health raises $12 million in financing

Nomad Health, an online platform that connects doctors and nurses to healthcare jobs, raised $12 million in its Series B financing. Nomad Health will use the proceeds to strengthen its technology, expand into more states, and hire more employees.

The round was led by venture capital firm Polaris Partners; the former CEO of online staffing firm oDesk, Gary Swart, joined Polaris in 2014. The Series B includes additional investment from existing investors First Round Capital, RRE Ventures, and .406 Ventures.

Polaris Managing Partner Brian Chee will join Nomad Health’s board of directors.

“Nomad Health is leading a revolution to change the very nature of healthcare human resources,” Chee said. “Nomad Health’s business can have a transformative, societal impact on the entire healthcare industry, and we are thrilled to join the effort to solve healthcare staffing shortages with cutting edge workforce technology solutions.”

Nomad Health, founded by former DoubleClick CEO Kevin Ryan, recently entered New York State through a partnership with the HANYS Solutions, the for-profit subsidiary of the Healthcare Association of New York.
