UK – Norfolk recruitment firm sparks anger with ad asking “Want to see my white bits?” (Eastern Daily Press)

31 August 2018

Norfolk-based independent construction recruitment agency Jark Norfolk has drawn criticism and anger an advert that has been branded as “disgusting” and “sexist” by some clients, reports the Eastern Daily Press.  The advert shows a woman wearing a skimpy bikini next to the caption “Want to see my white bits?” A smaller font beneath the main header reads: “Oops sorry, I meant white collar candidates.” Jark Norfolk sent the mail shot to their entire client database, but recalled it after screenshots were posted online by angered recipients. Several of the construction recruitment company’s clients have called for a boycott of the company, stating that Jark had “seriously misjudged their target audience”. The Eastern Daily Press reported that Jark Norfolk may have issued a private apology to their clients, but the company has not yet commented.
