UK-based food courier Deliveroo has acquired Maple, a New York-based food delivery firm, reports Tech City News. Maple will be ceasing its operations in New York and relocating its team to London. Deliveroo will also be integrating Maple’s technology into its platform. Maple was founded in 2014.  Will Shu, founder and CEO of Deliveroo, commented: “Maple’s founders share the same vision for food delivery as we do – great food delivered straight to your door, fast. I have a huge amount of respect and admiration for everyone who has been a part of Maple. Maple’s great work will live on through Deliveroo.” Deliveroo is set to face a tribunal over the status of its employers this month. Last month, MPs condemned contracts at Deliveroo, Amazon and Uber.
