UK – Cordant acquires healthcare recruiter Sugarman

04 February 2014

Recruitment firm Cordant has expanded its reach into the health and social care market with its acquisition of specialist recruiter Sugarman, reports healthinvestor.co.uk. The terms of the acquisition were not released.

Sugarman provides recruitment services in the medical, education, and social care sectors. Cordant plans to build upon Sugarman’s fostering, adoption, and social work services and believes its internal training programmes and IT infrastructure will improve Sugarman’s market standing.

The day-to-day management of Sugarman will remain under the control of director Tim Wheeler. He will be assisted by Steven Kirkpatrick who leads the recruitment team at Cordant.

Phillip Ullmann, Chief Executive of Cordant, commented: “Sugarman's culture and people are a great match for the business and will add real strength to our offerings and growing success."

A team at Clearwater Corporate Finance, led by partner Marcus Archer, deal leader Natasha Price and analyst Mike So advised Sugarman on the deal.

Cordant also owns Prime Time Recruitment, Premiere People, PMP Recruitment, Abacus Recruitment, Grosvenor Boston and Judy Fisher Associates. The acquisition increases Cordant’s business portfolio to seven agencies.
