The number of jobs advertised throughout Switzerland surged by 21.5% in February 2019, when compared to February 2018, according to the Michael Page Swiss Job Index. Monthly growth across Switzerland stood at 7.6%.
French-speaking Switzerland reported a monthly growth of 12.2% while job vacancies increased by 6.9% in German-speaking Switzerland.
"The year seems to be going strong," Julien Gibert, Executive Director at Michael Page, said. "In addition to the seasonal demand for auditing, accounting and finance specialists, many job categories are posting double-digit growth. This is the case, for example, in the transport and logistics sectors, IT security, and credit and risk management.”

The Lake Geneva region (GE, VD, VS), which accounts for two-thirds of job vacancies published in French-speaking Switzerland, recorded the strongest growth, at 12.2% over one month and 24.5% year-on-year.
