Switzerland – Jobless rate falls to 3.2% in February, number of jobseekers declines

The Swiss registered unemployment rate fell to 3.2% in February from 3.6% in the same period last year, according to figures from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.

Figures from SECO showed that when compared with the same month of the previous year, unemployment fell by 1,608 persons.

When broken down by age groups, the unemployment rate for those aged 15-24 fell by 17.4% while the unemployment rate for persons over 50 also decreased by 5.1%.

Meanwhile, the number of jobseekers in February 2018 fell by 6.7% when compared to the same period last year.
