Spain – Government plans to raise €1.05 billion to fight labour fraud (El Economista)

The Spanish government will raise €1.05 billion to create a special unit to monitor labour fraud, reports El Economista. The unit will investigate 350,000 employment contracts, vocational training courses, false self-employment, and social security and unemployment fraud. The funds will also be used to monitor temporary employment agencies and private placement agencies and their compliance with regulations, and will develop initiatives to control fraud in temporary contracts. The Ministry of Employment and Social Security will also carry out 200,000 visits to work centres to control the irregular economy and the work of foreigners.
