Netherlands – ABU reports continued staffing growth

According to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU), hours worked by temporary workers increased by 7% and turnover also grew by 7% in period 13 (weeks 49 to 52) compared to the same period last year.

ABU divides the year into four-week periods reported, with the 13th period the most recently ended. This period had four workable days less compared to the same period in 2015. For this a correction was applied.

Temporary workers in the administrative sector increased 4% in hours worked and turnover grew 2% in comparison to the same period in 2015. Meanwhile, hours in the industrial sector increased 11% and turnover increased 12% compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, the amount of worked hours in the technical sector increased 1% and turnover increased 7%.

The temporary agency work sector increased in 2016 in comparison with 2015. On average, the total amount of hours increased 8% in 2016, total turnover showed an increase of 9%. The year 2016 had two workable days less than 2015, for this fact a correction was applied.

The administrative sector increased 10% in hours worked, turnover increased with 8% in comparison with 2015. The industrial sector saw an increase of 9% in hours and turnover increased 10% in comparison with 2015. Meanwhile, the technical sector saw an increase of 2% in hours worked and 8% in turnover.
