Italy – Number of temporary agency workers increases in April

The number of temporary agency workers in Italy for April 2018 increased by 19.3% when compared to the same period last year, according to figures from Ebitemp, the bilateral organisation for temporary employment representing employers’ associations and unions.

Ebitemp figures also showed that the total payroll of temporary workers in April increased by 19.5% compared to the same month last year.

Meanwhile, the number of hours worked in April rose by 19.6% on an annual basis. Broken down by hours worked per worker, this figure increased by 0.2% in April when compared to last year.

Data from Eurostat found that the unemployment rate in Italy was 11.2% in April 2018.
