The average number of temporary agency workers in Italy in June 2019 fell by 6.5% on an annual basis, according to figures from Ebitemp, the bilateral organisation for temporary employment representing employers’ associations and unions.

When compared to May, the number of temporary agency workers remained flat. 

Total payroll for temporary agency workers fell by 3.2% in June compared to the same month last year and was also a further fall from May’s 2.4% decrease.

Ebitemp’s data also showed the number of hours worked in June 2019 decreased by 8.5% on an annual basis. Broken down by hours worked per worker, Ebitemp recorded a reduction of 1.2% compared to the previous year.
