Germany – ManpowerGroup acquires 7S Group

12 June 2015

ManpowerGroup Germany today announced that it has acquired rival German staffing firm 7S Group. According to the company’s statement, the acquisition is a strategically important step on the company’s way to becoming the leading workforce solutions provider with specialist and industry-based solutions.

According to research from Staffing Industry Analysts, the acquisition will make ManpowerGroup the third largest staffing firm in Germany, behind Randstad and Adecco.

Herwarth Brune, CEO of ManpowerGroup Germany, commented: “The 7S Group enhances ManpowerGroup’s portfolio of services in strategically relevant business fields. With this acquisition, we will become the leading workforce solutions provider and can lay the foundation for further growth.”

“In future, we will assume a leading role in the Aviation, Healthcare, and Gastronomy sectors and, in addition, are set to gain valuable expertise in the field of technical project handling.”

The contract was signed after an intense discussion period and numerous meetings between the two companies.

“We wanted to be absolutely certain that our future partner not only shares our commitment to providing high-quality workforce solutions, but also fits to our culture. Like us, 7S Group stands out thanks to its entrepreneurship, flexibility, and comprehensive understanding of service. Furthermore, there are many overlaps in our corporate values,” Mr Brune added.

For Dr Christian Speidel, CEO of 7S Group, the integration into a global network is also advantageous: “The international orientation and network will enable us to fulfil the needs of our larger customers even better. I will actively accompany the process of integration up to the end of 2016 and then withdraw from management to private life.”

Mr Brune concluded: “We attach great importance to a well thought-out and carefully planned integration. We will develop a strategy by the end of the year and start with the implementation at the beginning of 2016.”

The acquisition will be formally completed by September 2015, at the latest. Financial details were not disclosed.
