France – Temp employment up in April

Temporary employment in France grew by 8.2% in April compared to last year, according to data from Prism’Emploi, the French association of employment agencies.

Data from Prism’Emploi also showed that temporary employment grew by 8.3% during the first 4 months of 2017.

Temporary employment rose in all sectors including transport (17.0%), construction (7.6%), trade (+ 7.3%), industry (+7.1 %) and services (+ 6.3%), compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, temporary employment increased on an annual basis for middle management and professionals (11.1%), skilled workers (9.1%), unskilled workers (6.9%) and employees (6.6%).

Among the regions, temporary workers increased the most in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (13.4%) and Brittany (13.2%).
