France – Demand for professionals, managers, and executives up

17 June 2015

There was greater demand for professionals, managers, and executive across France in May 2015 than during the same month last year, according to a survey from APEC, the Association for the Employment of Professionals, Managers, and Executives (Association Pour l’Emploi des Cadres).

The APEC index registered 291 in May, up from 278 a year ago. The index is used as an indicator of the level of activity each month in comparison with the 100 index points in January 2004 when the index was launched.

However, compared with April 2015, the index registered a decrease of 12 points from 303. The May 2015 index was also the lowest level registered by the index so far in 2015.

There were nearly 57,000 jobs advertised by APEC in May 2015, an increase of 3% compared with May 2014. In the year to May the Association advertised nearly 726,000 vacancies, an increase of 13% compared with the same 12-month period the previous year.
