Denmark – Job board diversifies business with acquisition

30 May 2013

Scandinavian online job board Jobindex (JOBNDX:CPH) announced the acquisition of IDG Denmark, a subsidiary of the American company International Data Group, and Computer World. The deal allows Jobindex to move into the media market and expand recruitment services.

IDG Denmark specialises in communicating IT industry news while Computerworld is Denmark’s largest media source aimed at professional IT users. IDG also provides job and training platforms.

“We buy some of the strongest brands in the IT, media, skills development and job placement sector in Denmark,” said Jobindex director and founder, Kaare Danielsen.

He said it was novel for a job site to buy a news site, with the combination of the services providing a unique offering to customers. “Together we can create a professional network of IT professionals, combining news, discussions and content provided by users, also allowing users to input a lot of jobs and career opportunities.”

The company expects the acquisition to boost sales figures this year with revenue expected to reach €18.8 million (DKK 140 million), compared to a previously announced €16.1 million (DKK 120 million).
