CWS Summit & Collaboration in the Gig Economy Take Work into the Future

Mountain View, California — June 24, 2019 — Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), the global advisor on staffing and workforce solutions, has announced the keynote lineup and full agendas for the 15th annual CWS Summit North America, taking place September 9th-10th at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, and for SIA’s newest conference which takes place directly following the CWS Summit, the award-winning Collaboration in The Gig Economy, September 10th-12th.

CWS Summit North America is the largest peer-to-peer networking event for contingent workforce professionals, featuring case studies and real-world solutions for the evolving challenges in managing today's workforce solutions program. This year’s Summit takes on the theme Elevate, Empower, Evolve and opens with a welcome keynote Beyond Tomorrow: A Time Travelers Guide to the Contingent Workforce as Peter Reagan, Senior Director of Contingent Workforce Strategies & Research at SIA, explores some of the latest developments in the workforce solutions ecosystem to aid in a better understanding how yesterday’s trends might evolve into the reality of tomorrow. The Summit also features Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour, America’s First African American Female Combat Pilot, who engages from Zero to Breakthrough: How A Breakthrough Mentality Creates Breakthrough Result as she takes the audience on a journey of setbacks, challenges, adventure, success, triumph and lessons learned.

“As the pace of change accelerates around us and the workforce solutions ecosystem continues a dynamic evolution, the CWS Summit empowers the industry to move forward. The 2019 conference lineup includes an impressive cadre of speakers, practitioners and professionals from across the talent management landscape, dedicated content tracks and all-new Advanced Program sessions for highly-mature program offices,” said Ursula Williams, COO at SIA. “There is nowhere better to glean insights into the future of contingent work and to access powerful intelligence, world class vision and actionable strategies for program success.”

Collaboration in the Gig Economy is the fastest-growing, leading-edge conference of its kind, connecting the entire talent supply in order to solve critical business challenges; to understand and discover new models, technologies and paradigms around work; and to talk one-on-one with counterparts, strategists, innovators and entrepreneurs from all corners of the ecosystem to define and redefine the global talent marketplace.

SIA President Barry Asin kicks off the conference with a look at Gig Economy Convergence and the Talent Supply Chain as he addresses the exciting opportunities as well as difficult and important decisions for all the players in the talent supply chain, including enterprise buyers, VMS/MSP supply chain partners, online staffing/human cloud platform companies and traditional staffing suppliers. Former Amazon executive and Business Strategist John Rossman speaks to Making Your Talent Supply Chain a Golden Asset–The Amazon Way and discusses the key to scaling, Amazon’s secrets to drive accountability, how to achieve “operational excellence” and “innovation” and what customers truly desire in his keynote session.

Industry leaders dive into the practical details of what it takes to succeed in The Gig Economy and the Talent Supply Chain: Where Next? and offer varied and essential perspectives in a keynote panel conversation that includes Dean Bosche, Head of Partnerships, Toptal; Paul Estes, Senior Director, Microsoft 365, Microsoft; John Healy, Vice President & Managing Director, Office of the Future of Work, KellyOCG; and Jeff Phelps, CEO & Co-Founder, iWorkGlobal.

The program also features latest gig economy data, forecasts and research findings, the 3nd annual Gig Economy Shark Tank Technology Innovation Competition, and thought leadership and content from across the world of work focused along three tracks: Leading in a New World of Work, Emerging and Disruptive Technologies, and Collaboration Case Studies.

“The global gig economy is a $3 trillion marketplace,” said Barry Asin, President of SIA. “The world is moving to a more flexible, on-demand workforce; and all players in the talent supply chain are impacted. We are excited to bring everyone together again this year to explore the seismic shifts and the ripple effects across the industry. In an increasingly tech-driven world, the future belongs to those who get partnerships and collaboration right.”

All CWS Summit and Collaboration in the Gig Economy attendees are invited to gather at the Workforce Solutions Industry Party, Tuesday evening September 10th. CCWP (Certified Contingent Workforce Professional) training will be offered onsite at the Manchester Grand Hyatt on September 11th & 12th.
