Second-quarter GDP falls 0.7%

Real gross domestic product in the U.S. decreased at 0.7% in the second quarter, according to a third estimate released today by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The estimate is an improvement over the second estimate in August of a 1.0% decline. Real GDP fell by 6.4% in the first quarter.
