Seneca acquires QED National, a New York-based IT staffing firm

Seneca Resources acquired QED National, an IT staffing firm based in New York City. The deal, which closed May 26, marks the first add-on acquisition completed by Seneca since private equity firm Caymus Equity acquired a majority stake in September 2022.

Seneca, based in Reston, Virginia, provides IT and engineering staffing. The deal strengthens Seneca’s platform by increasing its mix of IT consulting and cybersecurity solutions.

“Partnering with QED represents meaningful progress toward achieving our strategic objectives for Seneca in the first nine months of our investment,” said Blake Cummings, principal and investment lead at Caymus Equity. “We recognize the value of IT consulting expertise in today’s marketplace and are excited to leverage QED’s leading capabilities in this area as we continue to build the premier IT staffing and consulting business in the industry.”

Plans call for management to remain in place. In addition, Dustin Molter, the leader of QED’s operations, will join Seneca’s leadership team as managing director for the New York office. Molter was the seller of QED.

Terms of the transaction were not announced.

In addition to Seneca, Caymus Equity’s staffing experience includes a prior investment in Hospitality Staffing Solutions.
