IT developer remote hiring platform sold to Texas-based code review provider

Moonlight, a Brooklyn-based online platform for hiring remote IT developers, was acquired by PullRequest Inc., the companies announced.

Moonlight was founded in 2017. It has more than 3,000 developers on its platform, according to PullRequest. Moonlight’s services include solidifying payments, providing credentials and identifying skill sets.

Emma Lawler and Philip Thomas, founders of Moonlight, will join PullRequest. Lawler will serve as head of design while Thomas will serve as head of growth.

PullRequest, based in Austin, Texas, provides on-demand reviews of computer code with a network of reviews and automation tools.

“Partnering will make it easier for PullRequest subscribers to write new code faster, and for Moonlight clients to trust the contributions of contractors,” Lawler said. “The network has paid over $1 million to developers for short-term contract work at companies ranging from startups to Cloudflare.”
