Gigster LLC, an Austin, Texas-based firm that assembles virtual software development teams, has acquired CodersRank, a Debrecen, Hungary-based platform that ranks IT developers.

“The core of developing great software is world-class talent,” Gigster CEO Andy Tryba said in a press release. “CodersRank’s technology for assessing developer skills and their vast network significantly enhances our capacity to ensure customer success.”

The acquisition has helped Gigster reach out to a wide network of engineers and assist its clients in obtaining more comprehensive data about their potential hires among other things, according to the company.

“Since acquiring CodersRank, we have taken our 10-plus years of research and experience in understanding team performance and supplemented it with the algorithms from CodersRank,” Cory Hymel, VP of product and research at Gigster, wrote in an email to SIA.

Terms of the transaction were not made public. The deal was announced in September. Plans call for the CodersRank’s brand to remain.
