Optomi acquires healthcare IT staffing firm, rebrands to Optomi Professional Services

Tech staffing provider Optomi LLC acquired Dallas-based healthcare IT recruitment firm 1st Solution USA. The company is also rebranding to Optomi Professional Services, or OPS. The rebranding is a result of its expansion into the onshore outsourcing solutions business with its existing Provalus brand, as well as the healthcare IT space with the new firm.

The 1st Solution USA transaction is expected to close in July; terms were not disclosed.

“1st Solution is one of the most stable healthcare firms in the country and fits nicely with the organic growth OPS has achieved,” said Christen Black, OPS’ chief marketing officer and co-founder.

The founder of 1st Solution USA, Kimberly Bowden, will remain head of the Healthcare IT brand as president, and all employees have been retained.

“Having worked with Kimberly earlier in our careers, we have a great deal of respect for her,” said Todd Black, OPS co-founder and chief operating officer. “There is a fluid cultural synergy between our firms and we are confident we will do great things together.”

Two former Technisource executives launched Optomi in 2012 with $8 million in backing. Headquartered in Atlanta, OPS counts 10 locations across the US and more than 550 employees.
