Fourth-largest healthcare staffing firm rebrands to Amergis

April 10, 2024

Maxim Healthcare Staffing, the fourth-largest US healthcare staffing firm, has changed its name to Amergis. The company also on April 9 announced an expansion of its education staffing division.

“Our name has changed, and the logo is different, but what remains is our commitment to connecting people to work that matters and helping our clients find the right staffing solutions for their unique challenges,” Bill Butz, president of Amergis, said in a press release.

The rebrand is aimed at helping reduce confusion with Maxim Healthcare Services, its similarly named sister organization that assists patients in homes and schools. The company also said the old name no longer fully encapsulated its scope and mission.

Amergis is derived from the words “adapt” and “merge.”

The company specializes in staffing nurses, allied health professionals, behavioral health professionals, locum tenens and medical coders. Client companies include hospitals, schools, government health programs, correctional facilities and managed care organizations.

Amergis also said its education operations, Amergis Educational Staffing, will offer a local presence in communities as well as dedicated local and national hub recruitment teams. It will staff for fields such as behavioral health and special education as well as nursing and support staff. It also announced an expanded database.

The company has offices in 32 states.
