The Adecco Group named Jan Gupta to the newly created role of president of Modis, its IT, engineering and life science staffing and solutions division, effective May 6. Gupta will oversee Modis and also join Adecco’s executive committee.

In North America, Modis last year rebranded its divisions as part of an effort to have one brand that represents engineering, IT and life science staffing. And in March Pete Broding took the role of head of managed services and solutions for North America at Modis; Stephen Kovach also joined the North American division as head of new business development, a newly created position. 

A German national, Gupta’s experience includes managing global teams in engineering and technology businesses and an academic background in mechanical engineering and economics. His career spans more than 20 years in the technology industry, most recently as COO and board member of Schunk Group, a German advanced engineering company. He previously held various senior leadership roles at the Freudenberg Group, including leading several of its global divisions.

Gupta is based at the Adecco Group’s global headquarters, in Zurich, Switzerland.
