Uber partnered with Google’s autonomous vehicle company, Waymo, to provide Uber Eats deliveries in Phoenix through Waymo’s autonomous vehicles, Ars Technica reported. Unlike with human independent contractor drivers who deliver the food directly to the door, customers will need to go outside to the Waymo vehicles; however, customers receiving a delivery via a Waymo autonomous vehicle will have their tip refunded.
